Courtney S. Turner Diagnostic Imaging Center

Radiology

Radiology at the Atchison Hospital provides a wide range of diagnostic imaging services. Long gone are the days of "film" with the radiologist sitting in a dark room. Instead of large envelopes filled with heavy sheets, images are stored on servers with multiple "copies" to provide redundancy for later reference. All studies performed result in state-of-the-art digital images that can be viewed virtually anywhere as both patients and providers become mobile in today's world. The Radiology Department staff received training various at academic institutions accredited by JRCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) and are certified by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board), ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, and RVT (Registry of Vascular Technologists).

Outpatient services are typically provided Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Inpatient and emergency services are available 24/7.

Services offered are:

Radiography

CT (Computerized Tomography)

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

Mammography

Bone Densitometry and Nuclear Medicine

Ultrasound studies performed include echocardiography and vascular imaging as well as OB/Gyn, abdominal and small parts scanning.

PET/CT can also be scheduled at Atchison Hospital

Get Your Lung Screening
Lung cancer is by far the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women.

Usually, symptoms of lung cancer do not appear until the disease is already at an advanced stage. Even when lung cancer does cause symptoms, many people may mistake them for other problems, such as an infection or long-term effects of smoking. This may delay the diagnosis.

The main benefit of screening is a lower chance of dying of lung cancer. If you are at higher risk, your doctor can explain your risk and how you fit into the American Cancer Society lung cancer screening guideline.
