Atchison Hospital, Atchison, Kansas September 18, 2009 On September 11, 2009, Children’s Mercy Hospital brought their new state of the art EC145 Helicopter to Atchison Hospital for an introduction, tour, and question and answer segment. The EC145 is the first of its kind in the region, and allows pilots to fly in more restricted and low light conditions. Hospital employees, including EMS, clinical, and administrative employees, were able to see special features of the helicopter and meet the Children’s Mercy Transport Team. The state of the art helicopter is a kid friendly, traveling Emergency Room that provides transport care to critical children at the Atchison Hospital.
